What is Frudism?

Mariana Robinson was inspired to create Frude images after studying Picasso's "Still Life with Pitcher and Apples" (1919).

Picasso's painting was said by art critics of the day to be a little bit risqué because his apparent classic still life painting, represented a woman: The two apples on the plate being breasts and the pitcher showing the classic curves of a woman's waist.

Mariana has further developed this idea, coupled with her own wacky sense of humour in the titles, to produce a small collection of Frude paintings - or fruity nudes, thus inventing the words Frude and Frudism.
